The North Stelton Volunteer Fire Company would like to continue to honor the memory of Hinal Patel by announcing a memorial scholarship has been set up in her name for a deserving student who is applying to graduate school or medical school. Please visit our Donate page to contribute to this scholarship. Thank you for your generous tax deductible donation to allow us to continue to remember Hinal.

The North Stelton Volunteer Fire Company acknowledges with very deep regret that EMT Hinal Patel was killed in the line of duty July 25, 2015. Ms. Patel was killed in a motor vehicle collision while working as an EMT for Spotswood EMS.

Hinal has been a member of our North Stelton family since April 2012. She completed her EMT training in September of 2012. She served the citizens of Piscataway as a volunteer EMT in our Emergency Medical Services division. She served as a volunteer at St. Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick for 5 years before becoming an EMT at North Stelton.

Hinal was a Piscataway resident and a graduate of Piscataway High School. She graduated from Rutgers University in May with a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. She aspired to become a physician or a physician’s assistant (PA) and was planning to attend master’s program at the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences this fall.

Hinal was a very smart, dedicated member of our family and she will be greatly missed. She had many close friends at North Stelton.

The members of the North Stelton Volunteer Fire Company are devastated by her loss and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and coworkers.
